RUSSIAN TELEVISION GOES FOR CHYRON LEX2 GRAPHICS SYSTEM
Posted on Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Reading, UK, March 31, 2009: Chyron (NASDAQ: CHYR) has today announced that RTR, the multiple-channel Russian broadcaster and content provider with more than 80 affiliated regional bureaus and stations has purchased multiple Chyron LEX² graphic systems for use in news, culture, sport, arts and entertainment programmes.

The sale, through Chyron’s regional distributor GLOSUN, means that RTR will transform its broadcast workflow and playout with unrivalled playout flexibility and polished, professional graphics.

RTR Technical and Production Complex Director Michael Klimanov said, “LEX² is very powerful and at the same time it is a cost effective graphic system. It provides all the features we need for our television productions, as well as an elegant upgrade path should we choose to do so in the future. Chyron’s excellent reputation for quality products, service and support played a very significant role in our choice.”

An example of that support came in the form of RTR’s long-term subscription to the NewStar news system, which required specialist configuration of the LEX² system for compatibility, further demonstrating the flexibility of the system in addition to being a decisive factor selecting it as RTR’s newsroom graphics system.

Chyron Vice President and General Manager, EAME, David Ward said, “As Russia’s main State broadcaster, RTR reaches millions of viewers across the country with high quality news and entertainment. The ability to reinvigorate their brand across with LEX² is a significant and cost-effective capability that will greatly enhance the look and feel of their professional graphics.”
