Matrox X.mio5 D25 and DSX LE5 LP D25 NIC cards afford OEMs with additional integration options to help broadcasters deploy wide-ranging multi-channel 4K/UHD and HD IP workflows
MONTREAL, Quebec — June 17, 2021 — Matrox® Video today introduces the latest additions to its SMPTE ST 2110 lineup, the Matrox X.mio5 D25 and Matrox DSX LE5 LP D25 network interface controller (NIC) cards. Offering multi-channel video inputs and outputs (I/O) over 25 GbE networks, along with the media processing-rich Matrox DSX SDK, these new NIC cards enable broadcast equipment manufacturers to design IP-based broadcast graphics systems, channel-in-a-box platforms, and capture/playout video servers for HD to 4K workflows.
ST 2110 NIC cards purpose-built for IP workflows
Architected as video-aware, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) ST 2110 NIC cards, X.mio5 D25 and DSX LE5 LP D25 deliver 24/7 reliability and interoperability required of broadcast equipment while offering the flexibility and scalability expected of IP infrastructures, including standard network stack functionality. X.mio5 D25 equips PC-based platforms to support two 4K/UHDp60, eight 1080p60, or sixteen HD I/Os over 25 GbE, while including on-board video processing to offload CPU and GPU resources. Meanwhile, the DSX LE5 LP D25 low-profile card allows compact 1U, 2U, and 3U COTS systems to support two 4K/UHDp60, eight 1080p60, or sixteen HD I/Os over 25 GbE, with zero CPU usage.
Essential developer tool building blocks
The Matrox DSX SDK provides the reliability and stability required for demanding on-air broadcast operations. A unified architecture that is common across all Matrox ST 2110 NIC, SDI I/O, and H.264 codec cards, the DSX SDK supports key functions—including file reading/writing, memory management, and a range of file formats, codecs, and effects—to facilitate an agile development effort. A prototyping tool is also available to rapidly simulate and test use cases without writing a single line of code.
"Matrox's full-featured ST 2110 cards offer broadcast OEMs an accelerated route to complete, field-ready ST 2110 solutions with minimal engineering effort and resources," said Francesco Scartozzi, VP of sales and business development, Broadcast and Media Group at Matrox Video. "Our deep ST 2110 expertise allows our partners and customers to seamlessly deliver innovative ST 2110 broadcast systems equipped to take on an ever-expanding list of IP workflows and requirements."
